Accounting Career Education (ACE) Program Report |
The following is a report on TSCPA’s accounting career education (ACE)
program activities and efforts for the 2005-2006 fiscal year:

TSCPA distributed updated ACE manuals to chapter executive directors and
chapter career awareness contacts (if known) in those chapters that elected to
participate in this year’s program. These manuals are designed to simplify
the implementation of the ACE program at the chapter level.

The Accounting Education Foundation generously agreed to fund the purchase of
CPA iPACKs for the 2005-2006 fiscal year.

TSCPA mailed solicitation letters and ACE program brochures to the
chapter-selected schools across the state. Eleven chapters selected schools.
Approximately 900 solicitation letters were mailed.

In 2005-2006, TSCPA received over 115 requests from members and educators for
speakers and/or materials. Over 8,000 career guides and more than 200
iPACKs were distributed.

TSCPA hosted an exhibit booth and presented two sessions at the Texas Education
Agency’s Business and Marketing Professional Development Conference in
July. Approximately 150 iPACKs were distributed at the conference.

The Fort Worth Chapter held a volunteer training session.

A letter was sent to the career centers on the large college/university
campuses in Texas. This mailing informed the centers of the availability of
accounting career materials.

TSCPA awarded four student members with $250 tuition/book reimbursements
courtesy of the Accounting Education Foundation. The winners were selected
through a random drawing of eligible members.

TSCPA was invited to present the AICPA lesson plans to a regional meeting of
the Texas Business and Technology Educators Association in November.

TSCPA hosted a high school educator conference at The University of Texas –
; Permian Basin in Odessa.
