  1. Held a CPE Advisory Board meeting via Web-Ex Communications.

2.   TSBPA Research Project-information to analyze market share and competition, and trends from 2000 to 2002.

Research and Development Using the $100,000 Society Grant:

  1. CPE Personal Assistant -web based system for personalized recording, tracking and maintaining CPE history.
  2. Chapter Developed Online Programs -Using 24/7 University as an application provider, the Dallas, San Antonio and El Paso Chapters developed two online video-streamed programs. Both programs are available now.
  3. Market Research Survey -Decision Analyst conducted a large-scale mail survey among TSCPA members to obtain a better understanding of their perceptions of CPE programs and products. A total of 8,000 surveys were mailed out and 671 completed surveys were returned.

Key Points From the Statistically Valid Survey Include:

--TSCPA is perceived as being the most reputable sponsor of CPE courses.

--The quality of TSCPA CPE courses is perceived to be much higher compared to other CPE sponsors.

--TSCPA is the sponsor preferred most by TSCPA members

--Individual brochures, printed newsletters and quarterly printed catalogs are the most preferred way members want to receive information about upcoming CPE programs and products.

--Classroom format and the use of modern technology are most important to members.

--Members reported seminars as being the most preferred CPE format.

--Slightly over half of the TSCPA members surveyed reported that they plan on taking online CPE courses within the next 12 months. The other half indicated that they did not plan to take any online CPE.

--Over 90% of respondents reported that their primary computer is used for email and to search the Internet for general information.
