Membership Recruitment and Retention Efforts |
The following is an update on the membership recruitment and retention efforts
for the 2001-2002 fiscal year (as of June 5, 2002):
-
Completed a successful summer recruitment effort aimed at never-been-a-members
from the last six years and the June 2001 new swear-ins. Targeted direct mail
pieces and member-get-a-member tactics were used in this recruitment effort.
Approximately 500 new members joined between June 1 and September 15.
-
Continued participation in June and November swearing-in ceremonies using new
recruitment video and continuing with giveaway CPA lapel pins. Over 500 of the
new swear-ins from 2001 have joined TSCPA.
-
Launched statewide student membership program. Currently we have over 350
student members.
-
A TSCPA staff team telephoned members who have been with TSCPA for three or
fewer years and did not renew their memberships for 2001-2002. Nearly 400
members were called and approximately 40 renewed their memberships following
this effort.
-
Non-paying members were dropped in October 2001. We experienced the lowest
number of dropped members in ten years.
-
A telemarketing campaign contacted members who had not paid their dues and
November swear-ins.
-
Monthly dues billing continued through January for members who did not renew
their dues.
-
A winter/spring recruitment effort targeted prospective candidate members, new
swear-ins and never-been-a-members from the past five years. Personalized
mailings and coded applications were mailed to this group in December, February
and March. This recruitment effort in total brought in almost 175 new
members.
-
Dues billing for the 2002-2003 fiscal year began in April.
-
The summer recruitment effort is scheduled to mail in mid-June. The target
market for this effort includes June 2002 new swear-ins, never-been-a-members
with Texas addresses who were certified between 1997 and November 2001, and a
random sample of 1000 former members who terminated or resigned between 1990
and 1999.
-
Chapters also participated in the above efforts and implemented recruitment and
retention programs at the local level.
-
These collective efforts yielded a net increase in membership.
