Revision of Bylaws to allow Board of Directors to establish chapter membership criteria for affiliate members on a category-by-category basis.

State the exact wording of the proposed motion:

To approve revision to Article II, Section (6) of the TSCPA Bylaws as follows:

Delete the sentence: Affiliate members shall be joint members of a chapter.

Briefly summarize (or list) the known reasons for the proposal:

Passage of this amendment would allow the Board of Directors to establish chapter membership requirements on each category established. Mandatory chapter membership for some potential affiliate categories is inconsistent with the membership requirements for fellow members (i.e. International Affiliates).

Briefly summarize (or list) known reasons against the proposal:

Chapter membership for all affiliate categories should be required as currently stated in the Bylaws.

Budget and staff impact and years:

Approval of the Bylaws amendment will have no budget or staff impact.
